David Sears Design Debuts New Furniture Line at Prestigious International Contemporary Furniture Fair

David Sears Design will show their new eco-friendly Cube Collection furniture line at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), May 17-20 at the Jacob Javitts Center in New York City.

The Cube Collection is built with sustainably harvested wood, parts of it are dyed, highlighting the figured maple grain. Traditional joinery techniques showcase the beauty of the material. The doors are accented with center resin panels inlaid with beargrass. The entire Cube Collection will be exhibited at the ICFF, which is the largest furniture show in North America.

“My inspiration for the collection is the cube, an inherently modular form that develops the details used in the collection,” said David Sears, whose background is in architectural design. “The system approach to this line was an idea borrowed from my architectural work. As with all my designs, these pieces are marked by an efficiency of design, and spring from my interest in materials and my study of the relationship between form and function.”

The Cube Collection includes a coffee table, a console, a side table and two “cubes,” which are decorative cabinets. Each piece in the collection is customizable in color and scale and can be purchased through the company’s website (www.dsearsdesign.com) or by calling 781-640-2741. Pieces are available individually and quantity.

Boston, MA-based Sears has been designing furniture for more than 15 years and his furniture can be found in homes across the country. His work has been shown at other furniture shows including the ’07 International Contemporary Furniture Fair.
